Emma & Adam’s garden wedding in Criccieth

I met Emma, and her Mum, Lesley, about 18 months before the wedding through Jade Leung their planner and stylist.

Emma’s parents live close by and following our initial meeting I met Lesley to walk round the garden where the wedding would be held. Emma’s Mum and Dad are keen and very green fingered gardeners, and had thought about what to grow ahead of the wedding. It was very exciting while being shown around the garden to think what might be useful for the wedding the following year.

I focused on using spring blooms where I could. The overall styling was relaxed and classic, but with modern touches; such as the black ribbons on the bouquets, clean typography on the signage and stylish reformation bridesmaids dresses. Soft blush and apricot tones, mixed with whites and textured foliage made the bouquets pop. A few Belle Époque tulips from my allotment and the most gorgeous sweet peas grown in Sussex contributed the most amazing scent as well as ranunculus, garden roses and anemones.

A sail cloth marquee is always a winner. We thought a lot about how to create impact in the marquee. A storm earlier in the year had brought down a eucalyptus in Emma’s parents garden, so we used two of the enormous branches, attached fresh eucalyptus the day before, from another tree, to create trees in the marquee which were impactful.

The tables were kept simple with bud vases and lots of beautiful Ester & Erik candles in soft tones, biscuit coloured napkins and little bunches of herbs on each setting prepared by Emma’s mum. Another favourite was “The Big Dub of Love” VW van, which doubled as a taco truck.

Thanks to FOX & BEAR for sending these images and to Lesley, Emma and Jade for being so awesome.
