This wedding was really special. I have known Rebecca & Justin for a few years now. She was brought up in England, but her Mother, Rossella (the most fabulous cook) is Italian. Justin, is from Perth, Australia. They met years ago in London and have had courtship of long distance variety. Although for the past two years they have both been based on the same continent, yay!
Both Justin and Rebecca had lots of lovely ideas for the wedding and the flowers. They were based in Melbourne, I was based in London and the wedding was in Italy. There were lots and lots of emails and lots and lots of pictures. Surprises at the wedding included lego men in the favours and a tube map inspired seating plan.
The brief was originally lavender but given a super cold winter across Europe, fresh French lavender in May was hard to come by. Dried lavender was great alternative and easy to add to the place settings, secured with string. It was simple and effective. It also worked well mixed with the fresh flowers in the table arrangements. For the table decorations we used a mix of herbs, anenomies, delphiniums and hydrangeas in different blues. Using pretty glass vases of assorted heights and colours resulted in a clean, fresh and modern look.
Rebecca’s bouquet of hydrangeas, delphiniums and lilly of the valley worked beautifully with her elegant dress and brilliant cobalt blue shoes. Britt Spring took these fabulous photographs and the full post can be checked out on her website.
